Airport
The Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport, with designator
MSP, is the main airport servicing the IMA's metropolitan area.
Ground Transportation From the Airport
Taxi
TIME: Allow 25 minutes / 45 minutes for rush hour (6-9 am and
3-6:30 pm M-F)
COST: Approximately $35 one way

Or, for visitors willing to make one transfer, the light
rail system is a good alternative.
Metro Transit Bus/Light Rail Transit
(LRT) from the Airport
TIME: Allow 60 minutes
COST: $1.50 bus/ $2.00 light rail during non-rush hour
& $2.00 bus/ $2.75 light rail during rush hour (6-9 am & 3-6:30
pm M-F)
Trains leave every 7.5 minutes during rush hours, every 10-15
minutes at other times. Travel time to Metrodome Station is
approximately 15 minutes. Please note you will need to board a
bus from the Metrodome station (routes to the IMA include the
50 and 16 which arrive at this stop every 10 minutes). You may
board one of these buses East bound (away from downtown) on 4th
st. S. and Chicago Ave (Kirby Puckett). The bus ride is
approximately 7 minutes. You may visit the Metro Transit
website to create a personal transportation route. You must
go to the website to plan the trip with your specific times and
dates: http://www.metrotransit.org/. Once on the website,
choose the Plan Your Trip tab located at the top of the screen,
and scroll to Transit Trip Planner. Then, enter your starting
point using the Landmark option, and scroll down to Airport
Mpls- St. Paul Int'l. Again for step 2, use the Landmark
option scroll down to choose U of M- East Bank. Add your
correct date and time, and click Plan Itinerary. Your complete
itinerary should include transferring from the light rail to
the bus near/at the Metrodome.
Another option is the Super Shuttle.

TIME: Allow 60 minutes to the airport
COST: $14.00 one way/$26.00 round trip
To the IMA
Reservations are not necessary for arrival into Minneapolis-St.
Paul International Airport.
1. Claim your luggage.
2. Proceed to the lower level (follow signs to ground
transportation), and continue to follow the signs upstairs to
the Scheduled Van/Hotel Shuttle Van loading area. SuperShuttle
is conveniently located inside the terminal by the loading
area.
3. Identify yourself to the SuperShuttle agent.
Return Reservations
(Advance reservations are required from the Radisson
Metrodome - Minneapolis.) SuperShuttle Shared-Ride Van Service,
or Exclusive Van Service: contact 800-BLUE-VAN at least 24
hours in advance of your departure time. A reservation agent
will suggest a pick up time from your hotel. To book online go
to http://www.supershuttle.com and click on the ONLINE
RESERVATIONS tab. Reservations will need to be guaranteed by a
credit card. Please have your flight information available.
You will need to choose shared-ride or exclusive-van service.
Shared ride service makes stops at other hotel, it may take up
to an hour for you to reach your destination. Exclusive van
service is private van service meant for groups up to ten
guests.
Public Transportation
Metro Transit (MTC) serves the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro Area.
Information about using the bus and light rail system can be
found at http://www.metrotransit.org/or by calling
612-373-3333. Campus, MTC, and Express Bus (52) information is
available at the University Parking and Transportation
Services. The address is: 300 Transportation and Safety

Fare cards can be purchased at Parking and Transportation
services or at the Information desk in Coffman Union.
Parking
Parking on and near campus is very limited and not recommended.
For the most current information on parking please call
University Parking Services at 612-626-7275 (just the last 5
digits if dialing on campus). The web page is
http://www1.umn.edu/pts/parking.htm. You can reserve contract
parking at this web site if you are on the payroll.
