I am currently a postdoctoral associate at the Institute for Mathematics and Its Applications (IMA). I received my Ph.D. in mathematics in August 2010 from Texas A&M University under the supervision of Dr. Peter Kuchment. I obtained my B.S. degree in mathematics from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", Bulgaria, and later spent a year as a graduate student at Politecnico di Torino, Italy. My research interests lie in the general area of numerical analysis and partial differential equations with emphasis on inverse problems, particularly those related to imaging techniques. Most recently I have been working on a Fourier Continuation - Alternating Directions (FC-AD) algorithm for Maxwell's equations. This work in progress is joint with Dr. Fernando Reitich. Another project I am currently involved in concerns the detection of illicit nuclear material. This project is part of a Homeland Security program more details about which can be found here.
