Advances in multiscale mathematics and their applications are essential to future progress in basic science and technology. This program aims to develop a collaborative research community by bringing together leading mathematicians with scientists and engineers to address emerging multiscale modeling and computational challenges in science and engineering. Activities will be united by common multiscale challenges that can benefit from interdisciplinary research. Project themes include molecular dynamics, properties of 2D materials, physiology, complex fluids and materials processing, chromonic liquid crystals, energy conversion, and polymer degradation.
