In recent years machine learning had made big strides in disciplines such as computer vision and speech processing, however, the application to geo-scientific problems requires to carefully design and rethink some of the fundamental concepts that go into the field. In this talk we will describe the difference between general AI and Geo-AI. In particular, we show how these differences play in problems of seismic data segmentation and magnetic units identification.
