University of Minnesota Libraries
Visitors to the IMA may obtain access to the University of Minnesota library system. A bar-coded University of Minnesota ID (U-card) or a temporary pass is required to check out materials from the University of Minnesota libraries. No keys are given out for the Math Library. For a temporary pass, obtain a letter from the IMA visitor support staff and bring it to the Math Library, located in 310 Vincent Hall. Visitors at the IMA for more than three months will be issued a U-card.

IMA visitors may use the University of Minnesota Recreation and Wellness Facilities for a fee. A letter for temporary use may be obtained from the IMA visitor support staff. Visitors at the IMA for more than three months may use their University ID (U-card) for access to recreational facilities. Spouses of IMA visitors can also obtain passes to the Rec Sports Center. Child Care and Schools
Parents can visit the U of M Office of Human Resources for on and off campus child care resources. The IMA is not affiliated with any of the mentioned providers and assumes no liability in relation to the quality of their performance.
Government Services on Campus
There is a Hennepin County Service Center located at Coffman Union. Branch hours are Wednesday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Services cover various certificates, licenses, tabs, and plates. Payments can be made by check (payable to Hennepin County Treasurer), cash, MasterCard, Visa or Discover Card.
If your normal bank does not have a nearby branch available, checks issued by the University of Minnesota can be cashed at Wells Fargo. Nearby Wells Fargo locations are at 3430 University Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414 and 2600 E Franklin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55406.
TCF and US Bank both have branches located in Coffman Union. TCF also has a branch by the Commons Hotel.
The Security Monitor Program, a branch of the UMPD, offers free walking and biking security escorts to and from campus locations and nearby adjacent neighborhoods for all students, staff, faculty and visitors. To request an escort from a trained student security monitor, places call 612-624-WALK (9255) or 4-WALK from any campus phone, shortly before your desired departure time. Available 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
